# Superheroes of the Earth Session 7/26
- Possible Penumbra was actually been tailing the bad guys. The Knights of the Annwn, and primarily fey-blooded humans or fey worshippers, and actually more of cyberpunk swat troopers. A lot of them are wanting to bring about the fey apocalypse. A show is being put on for some model who is a retired hero. She was in the basement for a while and tracked the whereabouts. She isn’t part of Second Chances program yet so she’s doing her own thing. Not a clear idea what they’re doing but they are causing trouble. It seems they are here to take something here. She hears some voices of them underneath the basement stadium, that things are in place. She only has signs of bombs being set off in the stadium.
- Faux Paws is on stage, announcing they’re going to have a blast! Rest of the Second Chances team are in the crowd. The bombs… go off! Faux activates fire shield as the stage collapses. A lot of people see the Knights swarm in, and fire starts. Volt and Arro try escorting people safely, and Octo-pop tries clearing an exit for the civilians while Volt zoops people out that way. Arro sees the Knights with the same icons on their armor, and is surprised what the heck are they doing in the US? Knight declares that it belongs to the fey, and Arro demands they step down. Faux tries to negotiate, saying they can have what they want as long as people don’t get hurt. They demand her amulet, and she reaches into her purse to produce as illusory amulet.
- Penumbra got lucky as the explosion rocks the basement. Penumbra is unscatched and oozes up the hole to see Faux handing an amulet to what appears to be the leader. She stretches to strike the leader, who is heavily armored! Also comms start going off. Octo-pop reaches to disarm several guards, while Volt zooms in to slam into the leader with a dropkick, launching him into the back wall. Tim shakes his had and summon a dark fog in an area. Faux felt sleepy but she shrugs it off while Volt and Penumbra dodge out of the way. Faux says “catch!” as she tosses the amulet to distract the Knights, and teleports to the wolf monster to gently slap him awake. The guards that were near Faux Paws are leaping towards the amulet and activate their jetpacks. Some guards fire at Onion (Arro) but the arcane blasts do nothing to his form. Penumbra tries reaching forward to grab the leader but he also pullls her off. Onion lands a big punch on a nearby minion. Wolf monster’s collar seems to act up? But his teammates hear police calls and sirens on their comms. Octo-pop stretches more and disarms more minions as he also wraps his arms around them. Volt leaps and strikes a pose as she unleashes lightning and zaps more minions.
- The Big Bad realizes what’s going on, and pull up mask to announce to be rescued, and he poofs away, abandoning his Knights. The Four teammates reconvene. Emrock (Rob) admits not being good at talking, and lets Onion do the talking. Faux is upset her birthday is upset but Onion offers the hug to effectively a stranger. Penumbra asks what they’re herefore, and. Onion explains they’re here to recruit Faux Paws. Faux doesn’t want talk about her amulet, and kind of teleports away. THey ask the slime what she’s here for and she explains she’s chasing leads. Didn’t expect them to be here, or the boms. THe team invites her, and she kind of relents and agrees to join. The team splits, and Penumbra gets invited by wolf to come with him to his place. She tries out testing animal speak to him.
- Next morning, the team reconvenes. Penumbra knows this guy! Darker complexion soldery man, with short military hair, who creates force fields. His survived disintegration to create his body with the energy. But in superhero fights, he can run out of power and is grumpy about now being at a desk top. THe guy presses Penumbra why she

- Faux Paws came in claiming to not do hero work anymore but offers to tutor. Leads them to a conference room? Wolf introduces as Dynamo, a suit hero who got turned into a wolf monster. He has a underground base, which Penumbra has seen was dusty and full of peanut butter, but she lies about it being neat. Anyhow she offers teambuilding execises, and Volt casually calls her Fireball, which she doesn’t like. Faux has the info and profiles about the team and still has her accoutn despite being out of the game for years, while Volt is upset somehow her accoutn is nuked after being dead for about six days. Wolf seems like he asked the light dude if she was hired as motivational speaker, while he actually snuck a cookie in. Anyhow Faux brought up a list of factions:
- Second Chance (us) at a score of 5 and it jumped to 7. And also there are breakpoints at increments of 5. Whenever it’s hit, it’s basically a hint to DMs to try out new things.
- Bravado Force is kind of our rival force, and hated the old name Beta Force. (it’s kind of like Young Avengers). Not in it for the glory but also a bit of agnst about wanting to prove themselves.
- Meta Abuse Prevention (M.A.P.), is kind of bad, and went up a point. (they are kind of like the anti hero thing in the Incredibles)
- Knights of Annwn is a bad faction, and also just lost points.
- ????? is an evil faction, unknown. (this is an idea thing for the DMs!)
- Radical Metas are bad. (just added, probably the strongest faction atm. freelance and kind of unfactioned)
- Freelance Heroes are good, but also getting their stuff kicked in since villains are starting to team up.
- Faux still thinks we should teambuild. Thinks we should do some low-effort tasks, like saving cats from trees. Or rather somethign more team effort. She wants to spread the news that Second Chance is here to help! Volt gets everyone energy drinks that are (unfortunate for her) was marketed around her by a megacorp, and is open about sabotaging them however she can. Faux points out that they’re kind of on the cam. Onion asks how Volt somehow lived from the dead, which she didn’t quite answer that she kind of exploded.
- Meanwhile Wolf kind of tries to sneak from the cam and try to speak genuine about why he thinks this group is good, because sometimes your life changes from everything going smooth as possible, then suddenly is changed for you. And wants to get back on your feet. Also the audio is kind of rough, and he gets an email later asking if he’s getting dubbed over.
- Notes about the stuff so far:
- Our base is bare bones. The lab was designated to rebuilding and maintaining Volt. Also we’ll build up so that this building is a tower.
